With the Virginia Data Finder, you can explore datasets on a wide range of topics, from mental health services and substance use trends to community health indicators, healthcare access, and more. All data sources are from trusted government partners, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

How to Use the Virginia Data Finder

Option 1: Choose a category to filter data sources by general topic area. Categories include Substance Use, Mental Health, Justice, Youth and Young Adults, and Community Health.

Option 2: Are you looking for very specific data? View the “Topic Areas” filter to view data sources that include specific topics such as Alcohol Use or Hospitalizations.

Option 3: Enter a keyword in the search bar.

Option 4: Scroll through the data sources below to view all of the available resources!

Once you’ve found a data source, click the title to learn more about the data source, including limitations of the data and how it can be used by community members. Each resource will have at least one link that will take you to the original source. Some resources have multiple links with references to the data across platforms. For example, some resources will have links to the data source on an agency website, and a link to a VASIS dashboard that displays the data.
