Virginia Substance Use Disorder Analytics (SUDA)

Description

The Virginia Substance Use Disorder Analytics (SUDA) Dashboard is an interactive data platform that provides insights into substance use trends and related health and safety outcomes across Virginia. It combines information from multiple sources, such as overdose deaths, EMS responses, hospital visits, law enforcement drug seizure data, and treatment services, to support data-informed decision-making.

How the Community can use the Data

Communities can use the SUDA dashboard to understand local substance use patterns, identify areas with high overdose risk, and support prevention and treatment planning. Local leaders, public health agencies, and community organizations can use the data to guide resource allocation, strengthen interventions, and improve coordination across public health and public safety systems.

Data Limitations

Some data may have reporting delays or may not be available at detailed geographic levels due to reliability or privacy concerns. Because SUDA integrates multiple administrative data sources with different definitions and collection methods, indicators may not always be directly comparable across datasets or time periods.
